| Objectives |
At the end of this course, the trainee
will be able to:
- Install the Nexspan S, Nexspan L, and Extension
cabinets
- Cable the subscriber, create trunks, and TCP/IP
equipment for the Nexspan S, Nexspan L, and Extension
cabinets
- Commission the systems by assigning IP addresses,
Key codes, and essential database for basic operation
of the Nexspan S, Nexspan L, and Extension cabinets
- Build analog, digital, and IP sets in database
- Assign analog and digital subscribers with basic
features, trunk to the Public Switched Telephone Network
and implement the Emergency calling database

- Brief description of Nexspan S hardware including;
Main and Extension cabinets, Processor cards and daughter
boards, Common cards, Circuit cards, and Trunk cards
- Brief description of Nexspan L hardware including;
Main and Extension cabinets, Processor cards and daughter
boards, Common cards, Circuit cards, and Trunk cards
- Description of switchroom space, cabinet location,
and unpacking, cabling, and environmental considerations
- VT-100 Man/Machine Interface setup and connection
to Nexspan S, and Nexspan L IP PBX
- Basic database commissioning such as; password assignment,
entering key codes, setting date and time, assigning
system features, and assigning IP subnet and gateway
- Description of IP phone set programming
- Description of PRI trunk creation in database
- Description of T1 trunk creation in database
- Description of analog Loop/Ground Start trunk creation
in database
