Objectives

At the end of this course, the trainee will be able to:

  • Understand basic system database tables including Overhead groups and system parameters
  • Understand steps of call processing.
  • Describe routing tables: ROUT, PDT, TGRP, and UGRP
  • Explain and create Network Numbering Exchange (NNX), Foreign NPA (FRT), Exchange Reclassification (XRT), Local Call Routing (LCR), Local Toll Routing (LTR), and Special Numbering Plan (SNP)
  • Be familiar with Private Networking (NNP) theory of operation and database definition.
  • Understand routing via Satellite Directory Groups and directory numbers
 
Course Contents

The Pointspan System Database course provides a student with a basic understanding of the system database in an installed configuration.

  • Students will become familiar with all tables that constitute the system database. These tables include SPAR, GRPS, UGRP, NNP, SDGP, ROUT, PDT, and CLOS
  • Students will learn to analyze routing systems, both between PBX and via the PSTN
  • Students will learn to troubleshoot routing related problems
