| Objectives |
At the end of this course, the trainee will be able to:
- Identify the hardware components of PCs and servers and the proper handling of these components by observing ESD (Electrostatic
Discharge) procedures
- Describe the terms bits and bytes, how to count in binary, and convert hexadecimal to binary
- Identify the difference between public and private IP addresses
- Define how Subnets and Subnet masks are used
- Define the difference between TCP and UDP
- Define when NAT and PAT are used
- Name the 7 layers in the OSI reference model
- Name the layers in the TCP/IP model
- Define the terms Encapsulation and Packetizing

| Course Contents |
This WBT will introduce students to the terminology and concepts used in today’s networks. Each lesson builds upon the previous lesson in a step-by-step
common sense approach. The WBT will take the student through interactive lessons, demonstrating how networking equipment and networks work. The overall
goal of the course is to give any employee a basic foundation of today’s networking technology that is an integral part of our everyday life, whether at
work or at home.
The Fundamentals of Networking course contains the following modules:
- Introduction to Computer Hardware
- The Fundamentals of Bits and Bytes
- Protocols and Standard
