| Objectives |
| After successfully passing the six competency module tests, the student will obtain the CCNT
certificate that satisfies basic industry knowledge and vocabulary requirements. |
| Course Contents |
The CCNT Online Testing Set includes the six competency module tests required to be passed in order to achieve the CCNT certificate. Modules include:
Basic Data Communications, Basic Telecommunications, Computer-Telephony Integration (CTI) Essentials, Local Area Networks (LANs), Broadband Technologies,
and Voice over IP (VoIP) Essentials.
The six competency Online Tests is a set of online, self-paced exams. Test assessor allows three (3) attempts to pass the exam section by section. A
section only needs to be passed once. Users passing tests not taken as part of the CCNT certificate program will be issued certificates of completion.
Users passing the tests that are part of CCNT will be issued a certificate from TIA(TM).
- This Basic Telecommunications test examines the students' knowledge of analog and digital concepts. It also tests the students' understanding of
telecommunications basics such as networks, business communications systems, signaling, Internet telephony, and switching.
- This Basic Data Communications test examines a student’s knowledge of the technology of network architecture, packet-switching, fiber optics, data
communications channels, and data communication devices.
- CTI Essentials online test examines the students' understanding of the dynamics of connecting a computer to a telephone system for routing calls
through switches; the technology of applications, architecture, and system development.
- Voice over IP (VoIP) Essentials online text examines the students' understanding of the principles of transmitting voice calls and fax over the
Internet and explores VoIP networks, bandwidth compression, the gateway, packet prioritization, RSVP, H.320 and H.323, and WAN engineering issues.
- Broadband Technologies online test examines the students' understanding of the need for transmitting more than one type of signal simultaneously by way
of divided channel and then explores the technology of voice and data integration, frame relay, SONET, ATM/cell relay, SMDS, BISDN, ADSL, and VPN.
- Local Area Networks online test examines the students' understanding of the critical the concepts and technology of LAN topologies, information
transfer, transmission techniques, media standards, and network management
